For the first 12 weeks of your baby's life, you count her age in weeks. Around 12 weeks, most people move to counting in months and count that way for almost 2 years. After 24 months, it's more rare to hear kids' ages being given in months, although many parents still keep track (and I have definitely heard my share of moms discussing their "28-month-old" or even "34-month-old."
