Bathtime Baby

This trip down memory lane was brought to you by the Apple Store, where I finally figured out how to post videos on my new computer. New videos coming soon.

Wasn't she the cutest baby ever?

The Singing Elf

Last night was Amelia's first school performance. Her school practiced songs and dances for several weeks. Amelia missed over one full week of school, but went back yesterday and came home very excited to go to the performance. It was held past her bedtime but we rallied through. I found a new dress on sale yesterday and decided to get it. She loved it. She said she was an elf  ("Are elfs red?"). She wanted to get dressed right away and added the blue party hat above (hard to see because of the blue pillow).

Half of the performance was songs and half was dancing. Above, Amelia as a worried-looking elf, and at the top, a video of some of the songs. Below, the snowflake dancers.

Amelia told me she already sat on Santa's lap and didn't want to do it again. She watched.

In the second video, part of the snowflake dance. The music didn't work so they had to improvise. I am not sure these videos are working yet, but I will try to fix them. We had fun. It was sweet to see our little baby singing and dancing. Not so much our "baby" anymore.

Dr. Sanderford

is on call at a toy box near you.

Potty Time

Amelia's morning potty routine has expanded to include lots of friends. For the record, I would say she is definitely fully potty trained and has been for a month or more. She wears diapers at night and that's it (since she is pretty much NOT NAPPING anymore, we don't have to worry about diapers during naptime). She can climb onto and off of the potty herself, using her little stool (heehee, no pun intended). She can pull her pants up and down. She is very independent about deciding when to go and hardly ever has an accident. Just like some kids are naturally good sleepers or nappers (NOT MINE), Amelia was just pretty easy to potty train. This may be the last post labeled "potty training!"

Harley, Toddler Style

She is still working on pedaling and steering, but she has the bell figured out.

Silly Singer

This illustrates what I wrote a few weeks ago about Amelia making up words to songs.

Stories and Songs

Amelia was painting and suddenly began to tell me the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I grabbed the camera and tried to record it, but of course as soon as I started recording she changed the story a bit. Still, what I captured is pretty entertaining.

Are You Ready?

Another birthday present (with great thanks to Uncle Jes and Aunt Kim--and cousin Micah, of course)! She loves this, and by now has even figured out how to ride on it herself.

Birthday Presents!

Amelia started receiving presents in the mail early this week. She opened a few of them early, and yesterday she opened several more. She still has a few to open, and considering that we are having a little party for her on Saturday, she is truly having a "birthweek" instead of a birthday. Since so many presents are from family and friends far away, I am trying to video her opening them or playing with them, so you can all share in the fun. I will be posting lots of videos over the next couple of days, so stay tuned!

First, here is Amelia opening a gift from her Poppa!

B-I-N-G-O

On a recent and very long car trip, Luli, Dean and I sang "Bingo" to Amelia approximately 10,000 times. Amelia loves to hear songs, and sometimes she will watch whoever is singing very carefully and try to mouth the words with the song. On Monday, I sang "Bingo" to Amelia while we were driving to the grocery store, and she said, "Mia sing it!" And she did.

These are my attempts to catch her on tape.

Monkey See...

I was talking on the phone, straightening up, and when I hung up, I noticed this:
